After Last Call is a neighborhood 24-hour play festival, born from a curiosity toward the concept of artistic home and a desire to produce more artist-driven projects.
At 7pm 18 courageous theatre artists gathered in the heart of South Philly. They were split into four groups and given a nearby home, donated kindly by a member of the theatre community, to serve as their war room for the next 24 hours. The night consisted of curveballs, workshops with esteemed specialists of the theatre community, plenty of coffee, and artistic shenanigans of all kinds. At 7pm on the next day, four brand new, short plays premiered at The Pharmacy (1300 S. 18th Street). After Last Call was able to raise $250 for Rainbow Railroad, an organization that helps LGBT individuals in places where they are an open target for violence. www.afterlastcall.weebly.com |
